About Us

A student striving for success

Danielle Lewan learned from two of the best. Famous news journalists Monica Pearson an Amy Robach taught her news changes lives. After viewing the live broadcast of a mammogram operation on Amy Robach, Ms. Lewan realized that one female viewer could save her life with a mammogram as well. The combination of helping others through providing valuable information and putting her outgoing personality to good use has made her fall in love with becoming a news reporter.

Danielle Lewan is a driven, multidisciplinary journalist with an imagination for writing and passion to report. As a Junior at the University of Georgia, she is pursuing a Digital Broadcast Journalism major and a Spanish minor. Because she thrives in social atmospheres and thoroughly enjoys communicating with others, broadcast journalism couldn’t fit her character any better. The fact is: news changes lives.

Ms. Lewan’s time as a student is spent in the Grady College of Journalism as well as writing for The Red & Black student newspaper, volunteering for Grady Newsource, and acting as an extremely involved member in the Delta Zeta Sorority. She is also the Director of Brand Ambassadors for The Dean’s List, a company that constructs online portfolios for individuals to brand themselves. This summer she interned with WRDW-TV News 12 in Augusta, GA. Ms. Lewan says, “It was the most challenging, yet rewarding, summer of my life. The hands-on and real world experience is exactly what I needed to confirm news is my passion.”

Throughout the course of her Junior year, Ms. Lewan is looking forward to continuing her Grady journalism classes, interning for a day with CBS Atlanta, and working to expand her resume.

Ms. Lewan is a strong believer in optimism and always looking at a situation with the glass half full. She is also a firm believer in role models, for she believes they serve as incredible inspiration and guiding lights. Ms. Lewan says she will have succeeded in life if she resembles, even slightly, her idol Monica Pearson. In Monica’s words, “It’s what you do with what you have that makes you what you are.”
