About Us

I am from the Granite Capitol of the World: Elberton, Georgia. I was adopted the day I was born. I grew up an only child and in relatively small family. My entire world changed at 16 when I first met my biological father and my seven younger siblings, who give my life so much meaning! I also found my biological mother and over a hundred cousins, aunts, and uncles. My story is complicated, yet special, and I understood that at an early age. Because of this, I want to share my story and the stories of other people.Emily McLanahan

Although I’m a small town southern belle at heart, I have always known there was more out there for me. At eight years old, I watched entertainment television and CNN instead of typical cartoons. My love for news developed then; it showed me a world I didn’t know existed. While I am proud of who I am and where I come from, I hungered for more than just a career in the granite or education industries!

I’m pursuing a degree in Digital Broadcast Journalism, a Spanish minor, and a Sports Media Certificate. I take pride in all three specialties because they encompass my love for story telling, world culture, and sports and entertainment!

I learned early in my college career that the most important thing in today’s industry is the ability to adapt and be versatile. Because of this, I have interned in the realms of marketing, advertising, public relations, and creative development. I’ve interned several times in Los Angeles and hope to make a home there as an entertainment or sports reporter.

I enjoy sports, traveling, and Keeping Up With the Kardashians. However my greatest passion is service. I’ve always wanted a career where I can lend not only my hands to serve others but share my stories and experiences. I want to inspire little boys and girls that all dreams are attainable, no matter the circumstance! It is so important to pay all things forward and I truly live by that.
