Nathaniel McDaniel

About Us

Nathaniel McDanielKnown to friends as “Nate”, Nathaniel McDaniel hails from the quiet town of Trenton, Georgia in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains. He developed a passion for broadcast while anchoring his middle school newscast. From a young age, his parents taught him to work diligently no matter the task, and to learn as much as possible–lessons he takes with him each day.

Throughout college, Nathaniel has held a variety of jobs including: trampoline park monitor, stock crew manager, hotel security, and robotic welder operator. These jobs have given him a broader perspective of the working world, which he utilizes as a journalist. In turn, Nathaniel seeks to give a voice to the disenfranchised.

“Nate” loves to drum, follow sports, and collect vinyl records. A percussionist for 11 years, he has performed with several bands in the Tennessee-Alabama-Georgia tri-state area. His favorite genres of music are classic rock, soul, and hip hop. He is an avid fan of the Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club, Atlanta Falcons, and Atlanta Braves and is excited to root for Atlanta United Football Club in their inaugural 2017 season. He also became an ordained minister in order to perform his older brother’s wedding.nathan photo

Nathaniel’s journalistic experience includes an internship at the Chattanooga Times Free Press, a newspaper based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He has also interned with WDEF News 12, a CBS-affiliate station, also in Chattanooga. He is the second of his lineage to graduate from college (A.A. ’13) and will be the first with a degree from a four-year institution, from which he will have two degrees (D.B.J. ’16, B.A. ’16). He credits all successes to his family, because without them he would not be where he is today.
