Food is hard to come by. Lower income households that live further than one mile from a food mart are stuck in a “Food Desert.” On this evening’s newscast we will tell you about these deserts and how people are dealing with them.

Later tonight, we will check out food donation events going on around the Athens area. See what efforts the University’s UGarden club is making to fight hunger in our community. We’ll also take a look at the 3rd annual HungerBowl. The Food Bank created this competative event to get many student and community groups involved. We will tell you how you can help a neighbor in need fill their bellies in time for the holiday season.
