Georgia House Bill 1, also known as Haleigh’s Hope Ace, passed 158-2 last Wednesday Feb. 25 and is now awaiting approval in the senate. This bill moves to change rules currently in place concerning the use of marijuana. One of the major goals is to provide “regulated medicinal use of cannabis and derivatives to treat certain conditions.” The Hopkins family, specifically, has moved half of their family to Colorado, where cannabis oil is legal, to help treat their child’s condition.
