Suicide is the third leading cause of death for youth between the ages of 10 and 24. However, the Jason Flatt Act will attempt to lower that number by requiring teachers in Georgia to receive training on how to prevent suicide. The Athens community is fully supportive of the Act, including those who have experienced losing someone because of suicide.
