Sorority Holds Yard Sale to Help Sexual Assault Victims
Local UGA sorority Gamma Sigma Sigma is raising money to help out victims of sexual assault. Gamma Sigma Sigma, a national service sorority at the University of Georgia, held their annual “Yard Sale” at Tate plaza October 19th through the 20th.
The “Yard Sale” benefits The Cottage, a sexual assault and children’s advocacy center, located in Athens, Georgia. What doesn’t get sold Monday and Tuesday will be going to Project Safe Thrift Store, a thrift store benefiting domestic violence and fighting against it.
Public Relations Coordinator Danielle Shepard hopes that this year Gamma Sigma Sigma will exceed last year’s mark and raise two thousand dollars.
