Olympic Triplets
Jay, Kevin, and Mick Litherland are brothers on the University of Georgia Swim Team. But that’s not all that sets them apart, they are triplets. The three brothers just got back from competing in the NCAA Swim and Dive Championships in Atlanta. They have aspirations to swim in the Summer Olympics this year as well. The Litherlands have citizenship in Japan, New Zealand, and the United States. Mick and Kevin plan to swim for New Zealand this summer. Jay says he wants to swim for the US. The brothers are sophomores this season, and they told us that when they were freshmen, even the coaches couldn’t tell them apart. Today, the Litherlands are key component of the UGA Swim Team, helping the men’s team secure a 5th place finish overall at NCAA’s. Mick and Kevin will head to Canada for Olympic trials in just a few weeks. Jay will swim in the US trials later this month.
