Athens Farmers Market

News

Athens locals have been lining up for opening day at  the Athens Farmers imagesMarket and it did not disappoint. Along with locally grown vegetables,  fruits, breads, and plants, you can also buy locally made purses, candles, soaps and jewelry at the market.

Jessica Cudnik and Kevin Samples craft handmade soaps and other body cosmetics in their home workshop. These cosmetics are made from scratch using all natural and organic ingredients. It’s something that started out as a hobby that they love, but turned into a business.

“By selling at the farmers market we capture direct sales which means we capture the entire purchase price that a customer will pay. That’s really important to help balance out and diversify our sales,” said Jessica Cudnik, Normal Soap Company Co-owner.

The market will be open to the public every Wednesday and Saturday through mid- December. For more information on other vendors at the market, visit athensfarmersmarket.net.
