On Monday, the 10 best chefs in Athens, Ga converged on the Creature Comforts Brewery to take part in the “Athens Chef’s Collaboration”.

This event was to benefit “The Giving Kitchen”, a non-profit organization based out of Atlanta that helps fund restaurants in difficult financial situations due to crises.

Travis Burch, who is a partner of Heirloom Cafe  and one of the chefs at the event said it’s more than just paying for the basics that this organization

“The thing about restaurant workers is that if they can’t work, they typically don’t get paid,” Burch said. “That could cause them problems with utilities, rent, but ‘The Giving Kitchen’ is intended to help with those circumstances.”

In total the “Athens Chef’s Collaboration” raised over $10,000.
