Tony Raffa, local student and entrepreneur, brings donut shop to Athens
For the past four years, senior Tony Raffa has been involved in starting several business. Now, he is expanding his title to local business owner.
Since 2012, Zombie Coffee and Donuts has provided customizable donuts and fresh coffee to Washington D.C. Raffa has helped run the store here in Athens from his college apartment. Now, he’s getting to fulfill his dream of opening a store right here in Athens. Zombie Coffee will offer fresh coffee and customizable donuts.
“You’re a zombie before your first cup of coffee,” Raffa explains.
Raffa hopes that the store will seem the same success as the several store in D.C. In addition to the coffee, Zombie is known for its array of toppings, from bacon to Oreos to Fruity Pebbles, for unique, make-it-your-own donuts.
Construction is in full swing in downtown Athens, as Zombie Coffee and Donuts makes its home on Broad Street. Raffa is busy at work in an attempt to get the store opened by mid-may. Though he is getting prepared for college graduation next month, Raffa already has his hands in the real world.
