UGA Schwarzmann Scholar and Carnegie Fellowship

Two University of Georgia students received two different prestigious scholarships. Bert Thompson, a senior from Macon, was on of fourteen students selected for the Carnegie Junior Fellowship. As a fellow he will work on nuclear nonproliferation.

Torre Lavelle, also a senior from Macon, was selected to be apart of the inaugural class of Schwarzmann Scholars. Lavelle is one of 111 students out of 3,000 applications that will receive a full ride to study at a top-university in Beijing, China.
